Alton Randall "Randy" Gorman, 72, passed away on October 30, 2023, after a 15-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He lived in Macon all his life, except for three years that he lived in St. Simons Island, fulfilling his lifelong goal of retiring at the beach. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 1973. For most of his career, he was employed by Putzel’s Electrical Company, where he served as Vice President before joining Gorman & Gorman Electric, and finally starting his own business, High-Bar Electric, in 2007.
Upon retirement, he took every opportunity to be with his grandchildren and bring them sweet treats and toys. Outside of spending time with his family, he loved cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, playing golf, fishing, and sitting by the pool or the ocean.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Becky, his daughter, Beth Burnsed, her husband Jordan Burnsed, and two grandchildren, Jacob and Zoie.
Since Randy always enjoyed a weekend on the golf course, a celebration of life service will be held at Brickyard Golf Club on Sunday, November 5. Visitation begins at 3:00 p.m. with the service starting at 4:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to dress is golf casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
