Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Smith Hawthorne

Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Smith Hawthorne, 67, of Gordon, GA passed away at her home on Friday, May 24, 2024. Cindy was married to her husband, Edwin Russell Hawthorne, for 53 years. Cindy is preceded in death by her mother Juanita S. Townsend, her father J.T. Smith, her brother Marcus “Buck” Smith, and her nephew Darryl Griffin. Cindy is survived by sons: Shane (Nikki) Hawthorne and Rusty Hawthorne; sisters: Arlene (Ronnie) Armour, Sue (David) Crouch, and Tammy (Roger) Seckinger; brother: William Smith; sister-in-law: Cynthia (John) Hardy; grandsons: Ethan, Grant and Watson Hawthorne; nieces and nephews: Dean, Eric, Nick, Rhett, Macy, Tristan, Jennifer, Ashley, Amanda, Jared, Ron, Nicole and Stacey; and great nieces: Chloe and Charlee Cindy was a devoted wife, incredible mom, and loving sister.  Cindy had a love for the outdoors, but most especially she loved her flowers. Cindy was an incredibly generous person, always putting others before herself. She genuinely lived a life of love and will be immensely and fervently missed by many! Services will begin with visitations at 3 p.m. and service to follow at 4 p.m. May 31, 2024, at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Gordon, GA
