Garry DeWitt Davis, 75, of Lizella, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Son of the late Haywood DeWitt Davis and Sally Corinne Hanson Davis, Garry was born in Macon, Georgia on April 4, 1949. He attended the Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama before returning to Macon for work. He worked for years at the family dry cleaning business, One Hour Valet. He was also a successful salesman for a boat retailer in Perry, Georgia.
Garry had a love for animals, especially horses. His days were often brightened by the loyal companionship of his dog, Cooper, who was undoubtedly his best buddy for two unforgettable years.
Garry was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon.
Garry is survived by his loving wife, Debra Morrison Davis, of Lizella, Georgia; daughter, Dawn Davis, of Tennessee; sister, Brenda Gerbert, of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Duston Maverick Johnson, of Thornton, Colorado, and Maddison Victoria Daniels (David Thomas Henry Ward), of Lakesite, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Is addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Johnson; and brother, Ronnie Davis.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution. Garry owned One Hour Valet and the shop has been a staple in the community for over 70 years, originally started by Garry's mother, Mrs. Johnston. Debra is struggling to cover the costs of rent, supplies, and back taxes. If you can help, your support would mean a lot during this tough time. Thank you, https://gofund.me/a9e8291c
