James Douglas “Doug” Cunard

James Douglas “Doug” Cunard, age 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. Born in Covington, Georgia, Doug was the beloved son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Cunard.

Doug was a graduate of Warner Robins High School and Macon Junior College. He honorably served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran before building a successful career spanning over 40 years in the telecommunications industry.

Doug is survived by his loving family: his son, Vince Cunard of Atlanta, Georgia (Colicia Hanson); his daughter, Julie (Cunard) Barnes of Bonaire, Georgia (Kirt); and his grandchildren, Andi Cunard, Alex Cunard, and Chloe (Barnes) Gaskin (Shaun).

A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family. Arrangements are entrusted to Simply Cremation of Middle Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Doug’s honor.
