James "Jim" Patrick Scott

James "Jim" Patrick Scott, 96, of Macon, GA, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.  Final arrangements will be announced later.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204, or the charity of your choice.

Jim was born in El Paso, Texas.  He and his family relocated to Paris, Texas, in 1941, where he graduated from Paris High School in 1944.  While waiting to be called up by the United States Army for its Cadet Program, he graduated from Paris Junior College in 1946.  He served in the Army Briefly before continuing his education at Rice University, Houston, Texas, graduating in 1950 with honors and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He married Agnes Haynes in 1953 in Houston, Texas, while employed by York Corporation as a Sales Engineer.

The Scotts moved to Mobile, Alabama, in 1956, where Jim owned and operated Climatic Engineers, a York dealership.  They resided in Mobile for 38 years before retiring and moving to Macon, Georgia, in 1994 to be close to their three daughters and four grandsons.  They are members of Riverside United Methodist Church and have resided in Carlyle Place since 2018.

Jim is survived by his wife, Agnes, his daughters, Dr. Laine Scott of LaGrange, Georgia, Dr. Dara Hosch (Chester) of Atlanta, Georgia, Sydney Hoffman (John) of Fairhope, Alabama, his four grandsons, Harris Hosch (Megan), Hayden Hosch (Kaitlyn), Holden Hosch (Kaitlyn), Phelen Scott, and great-granddaughter, Caroline.
