Mrs. Linda “Carol” Hood Warren, age 82, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2025, in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born on December 4, 1942, in Decatur, Georgia, to Ennis and Margie Hood.
She married the love of her life on October 6, 1961. After the loss of her first child at his birth, she gave birth to and raised three children. Carol would tell everyone that her kids were the best, even though people might think theirs were the best—hers really were!
Through the years, Carol has been a good mother and wife. She also loved the severely handicapped and mentally challenged children, and her care for them made a true difference in their lives. She served her church as a secretary, and she loved to sing in the choir. She would often sing “There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit in this Place” when her husband preached.
Seven times God spared her life from disease beginning in 1999 when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and underwent surgery and chemo. Later she would have triple bypass surgery, and back surgery and was critically ill multiple times due to other health issues. Each time she was spared, she credited God for his mercy, because her job on earth was not yet completed. She was active in raising her grands often taking them on memorable trips to the mountains and a float down the Chattahoochee!
Carol had always had a love for gardening and flowers and her dog Wags, but above all, she loved her family and didn’t want to leave them.
Carol was predeceased by her infant son Weldon Franklin Warren, father Ennis Hood, Mother Margie Hood Sailors, stepfather Weldon Sailors, and her brother Wayne Hood.
Carol is survived by L.C. Warren III, her husband of 63 years; sons Vic (Melissa) Warren and Dusty (Stacy) Warren and daughter Tia (Brad) Litke; six grandchildren: Rachael (Brandon) Hauboldt, Kaleb (Shelby) Litke, Jennifer Warren, Haleigh Warren, Scarlett Warren, and Kendall Warren; and great-grandson, Lawrence Litke.
