Joe Dennis Ogle passed away after a lengthy illness Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Atrium Navicent Medical Center in Macon, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fort Benning, Georgia, March 3, 1953, as the 4th child and long awaited "boy" to be named after his father.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Joe Edward Ogle and Mary Ogle Clance, along with his grandparents, Rufus Doc and Mattie Mae Holland; sister, Brenda Ogle Heckman; and stepparents, Bob Clance and Ruby Lee Ogle. He is survived by his son, Ryan Ogle (Jennifer) of Centerville, Georgia, and daughter, Mandi Wheelus of Warner Robins, Georgia; granddaughters, Alexis Ogle of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Addison and Serenity Wheelus of Warner Robins; and sisters, Linda Ogle Forbes-Rountree (Don) of Haddock, Georgia and Glenda Ogle Haggard (Robert) of Eatonton, Georgia.
Joe had a quirky sense of humor which sometimes left you wondering "what did that mean?". He served in the United States Army like his father and later in life started his own business, Independent Detection Systems, selling and installing home burglar alarm systems. However, if you had asked Joe, he might have told you that he owned a large corporation employing 100 people (who's going to fact check that anyway). He loved his family more than anything except maybe a cold Budweiser while watching Gunsmoke. He will definitely be missed!!
Please join us for a graveside service in celebration of Joe's life on Monday, Dec 5, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Mausoleum at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Rd., Macon, GA 31216
