Karl Thomas D. Williams

Karl Thomas D. Williams passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at the age of 58 in his hometown of Macon, GA surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. Though his 8-year battle with heart disease and stroke showed his courage in facing life's challenges, his loving heart leaves a beacon of light for all in the community.

Karl was born to Willie and Eloise Williams, Jr. October 7, 1963, in Augusta, GA. Karl was a proud member of the Southwest High School Class of 1981. After completing his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia, Karl enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as an account executive in media and print advertising at 13WMAZ, WGXA-TV, the Macon Telegraph, and the Middle Georgia Penny Pincher. Karl enjoyed his work because it allowed him to connect with all types of people across the Middle Georgia area. Karl was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served a tour of duty in the Gulf War. He was also a faithful member and follower of the Central and Thomaston Road Church of Christ.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Karl. He could often be found shooting birdies at Bowden Golf Course or talking with church family long after worship services had ended. Karl was always willing to help others with warm generosity. His honest and hard-working qualities were admired by everyone he met.

Karl was predeceased by his parents and grandmother, Eleanor Crowe. Karl is survived by his daughter, Alexandria N. Williams of Arlington, VA, and former wife and friend, Sharon D. Williams of Warner Robins, GA. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association on Karl's behalf.
